Army Youths
Army Youths is a FREE, no cost dynamic initiative designed to engage young individuals in the values and principles of the armed forces while fostering personal development and community service. Our program focuses on working with vulnerable and disabled children, providing them with opportunities to learn essential life skills and build confidence. Through structured activities, we promote key values such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
One of our core components is teaching first aid, equipping participants with vital skills that can save lives and enhance their sense of responsibility. By creating an inclusive environment, we empower these children to overcome challenges, develop leadership qualities, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging within their communities. Our commitment to nurturing the potential of every child ensures that they not only learn valuable skills but also embrace the spirit of teamwork. We are fully insured and all our staff are fully qualified and our volunteers do not get paid.
Our classes
Juniors (Ages 4-6)
In this younger and smaller group, they do crafts and fun military-based game appropriate for their age. For example, making a tank from skewers and marshmallows and using inclusive methods to learn first aid. Parents join in and we have lots of fun. Pupils may also be able to go into the seniors group depending on numbers. This session takes place between 11:00-12:00 every other Sunday at our building before the seniors session with our amazing early years staff team!
Seniors (Ages 6-12)
At this group they go into a bit more depth, such as army tactics and badges of rank, first aid skills, and other key subjects, such as how to call 999 and put together an Army Sleeping Basha! This session starts at 13:00 and finishes at 15:00 and is held inside our building, but we also go out into the community, whereas we don't offer this to the juniors. We offer hot drinks and food for parents that stay during the sessions for free, and we open a whole range of activities and progression opportunities for the pupils, including our Student NCO's!
